Zoom only lets hosts use the built-in record button. If you're a participant which is most people, most of the time you're stuck taking notes or asking the host to share the recording later (which they often forget).

Glooin solves this by recording your screen directly. It captures everything visible the Zoom window, the audio, the shared screens and turns it into a shareable link the moment you stop. No host needed. No permission required.

Is it legal to record a Zoom meeting?

In most regions, recording laws require consent from at least one participant (often just yourself). In some regions — including parts of the US and EU — all participants must consent.

Best practices that most teams follow:

⚠️ Always inform participants before recording. A simple "This meeting may be recorded" in the invite is standard practice and legally protects you in most regions.

Three common approaches

1. State it verbally — say "I'm recording this meeting for notes" at the start.

2. Add it to the invite — include "This call may be recorded" in the meeting description.

3. Team recording policy — if your team records regularly, set a shared policy so everyone knows.

Frequently asked questions

Can I record a Zoom meeting without being the host?

Yes. Glooin records your screen, so you can capture any Zoom meeting regardless of your role. Zoom's built-in recorder requires the host to enable it for participants — Glooin has no such restriction.

Does Glooin record audio from Zoom?

Yes. Glooin captures your microphone and the Zoom audio playing through your system. Both your voice and other participants are recorded. When Chrome asks for microphone permission, click Allow.

Will other Zoom participants know I'm recording?

Glooin does not trigger Zoom's recording notification. It is your responsibility to inform participants as required by law in your region. Most teams add "This meeting may be recorded" to their invites.

Where does the Zoom recording save?

Glooin saves to your dashboard at app.glooin.com and generates a shareable link immediately. No file download needed just copy the link and share it anywhere. Works in Slack, email, Notion, Jira.

Does Glooin work on Google Meet and Microsoft Teams too?

Yes. Because Glooin records your screen rather than integrating with Zoom, it works with any video call platform Google Meet, Teams, Webex, or any other tool you use.

What is the recording time limit?

The free plan has a 3-minute limit. Starter ($29 lifetime) allows 10-minute recordings. Pro ($59 lifetime) allows 25 minutes. Power ($99 lifetime) is unlimited. All plans are one-time — no subscription.
