Google Meet only lets paid Workspace users record. Glooin records your screen so anyone on any plan captures any meeting.Free, instant link, no account needed to watch.
Google Meet's built-in recording is locked behindΒ Google Workspace Business StandardΒ β a paid plan starting at $14/user/month. If you're on a free Gmail account or a basic Workspace plan, the record button simply doesn't exist for you.
Glooin solves this entirely. It records your screen, so it works onΒ any Google account, any Meet plan, as a host or participant.Β The recording saves to your Glooin dashboard and generates a shareable link the moment you stop.
Works on free Gmail, Google Workspace Starter, Business Starter β any plan. Install once, record forever.
Search "Glooin" in the Chrome Web Store or click the install button at the top of this page. Click Add to Chrome. Takes 30 seconds β no restart, no setup wizard.
Go to meet.google.com in Chrome and join your meeting as normal. You can be the host or a participant Glooin works either way. No notification is sent to other participants when you start Glooin.
Click the Glooin icon in your Chrome toolbar. Select Record Screen. Choose the Chrome tab with your Meet (or full screen). When Chrome asks for microphone permission click Allow so audio is captured.
When the meeting ends, click the Glooin icon and tap Stop. Your recording saves automatically to your dashboard. Copy the shareable link anyone can watch without creating an account. Works in Slack, email, Notion, Google Docs, anywhere.
β‘30 seconds to install. 1 click to record. Link ready the moment you stop. Most people share their first recording before they've finished their post-meeting coffee.
Google Meet has a record feature β but it's deliberately locked away:
π« Google Meet recording requires: Google Workspace Business Standard ($14/user/month) or higher. Free Gmail accounts, Google Workspace Business Starter, and Education plans no recording access at all.
Even if your organisation pays for Workspace, there's another problem:Β participants can't record.Β Only the meeting organiser (host) can click the record button. If you joined someone else's meeting, you're out of luck.
Glooin bypasses both restrictions because it records your screen not the Meet stream. No plan required. No host permission required.
π Compare to Google Workspace Business Standard: $14/user/month = $168/user/year just to unlock the record button. Glooin Starter is $29 once, covers everything, forever.

Recording laws vary by location. In most places you need consent from participants. In "two-party consent" regions (parts of the US, some EU countries), everyone must agree before recording starts.
β οΈ Always tell participants before recording. "I'm recording this for notes" at the start of the call, or "This call may be recorded" in the invite, is standard practice and legally sound in most regions.
Add a note to the inviteΒ β Google Calendar invite description: "This meeting may be recorded for reference."
Say it at the startΒ β "Quick note, I'll be recording this for our team notes." Takes 5 seconds.
Team recording policyΒ β if your team records regularly, set a shared norm so everyone already knows.

Yes. Glooin captures your microphone and Meet audio through your speakers. Allow microphone access when Chrome prompts you. For cleaner audio, try recording the Chrome tab rather than the full screen this captures the Meet audio stream directly.
Glooin does not trigger Google Meet's recording notification because it records your screen, not the Meet stream. You are responsible for informing participants before recording as required by law in your region.
Glooin saves to your dashboard at app.glooin.com, not Google Drive. You get a shareable link instantly β no waiting for Drive processing. The link works for anyone without a Google or Glooin account.
